ITI Our Views - Links

There are many websites with New Zealand tertiary education links, so this page focuses on a few sites with information on quality private tertiary education in New Zealand and around the world. We don’t agree with everything they say, but they gave us, and hopefully will give you, a broader perspective.

The Program on Research on Private Higher Education at University of Albany, State University of New York, is one of the most active private higher education research centres in the world. They have a paper on New Zealand private higher education by Malcolm Abbott of Auckland-based AIS St Helens.

The Education Forum is an education advocacy organisation based in New Zealand focussing on excellence, competition and choice, amongst other things. Their website has a good mix of advocacy and news content.

Education Directions, which provides services to ITI, has some research on private tertiary education and New Zealand tertiary education links.

The Australian Council on Private Education and Training and the US Career College Association both have similar goals to ITI and their sites are worth a look.

Canada’s Prince Edward Island has listed the bodies that regulate private tertiary providers across Canada, which shows the diversity of approaches within one country.

Coming back to New Zealand, click on the Our Members menu to the left for links to ITI members, while the edCentre portal has links to government information.
