ITI Newsletter - July 2010

Hello and welcome to the July 2010 newsletter from Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI). ITI is a recognised peak body representing a diverse range of the private tertiary providers who are all committed to quality and making a difference. This newsletter goes out monthly to members, colleagues, stakeholders, media, consultants and officials to share real success stories and highlight some of the great work going on within the PTE sector.

In this issue, New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) FERN School of English has developed an innovative package which lets students study English then experience life on one of New Zealand's famous organic farms. The International Travel College (ITC) is delighted at strong industry support for the comprehensive training provided by their Certificate in Aviation.

Laidlaw College (formerly the Bible College of New Zealand and MASTERS Institute) has finalised a student exchange programme with the prestigious Eastern University in Philadelphia, PN, USA. Finally, a graduate from Media Design School (MDS) has produced an animation so cute we challenge you to watch and say truthfully that it hasn't got stuck in your head. There is even a link.

A number of ITI members will be attending the Education NZ Annual Conference in Christchurch on 5-6 August. As Executive Director of ITI, I will be presenting as part of two panels - "What aspirations does your sector have in international education over the medium term" (5 August - 9:45am) and "Government policies and the private sector" (6 August - 11:15am).

Finally, this will (hopefully) be the last newsletter under this current format. Time has caught up with the ITI website and ITI newsletter and we are in the last stages of upgrading to a new look and new functionality. Fingers crossed that you will get to enjoy the first newsletter in the updated format next month.
