ITI Newsletter - August 2011
Good morning and welcome to the August 2011 newsletter from Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI).
ITI is a recognised industry peak body representing a number of diverse high-quality Private Training Establishments (PTEs). Our members teach a variety of courses at all levels but are united in their common commitment to quality and value. This is a monthly newsletter where we look to share stories from our members about educational successes.
Leading this bumper issue, a staff member from The Learning Connexion has won a Prison Arts Leadership Award for her work with more than 80 students who are in jail. The International Travel College continued its impressive run at the Auckland South Business Awards by becoming the first winner of the marketing excellence category.
The New Zealand Tertiary College was proud recently to welcome their initial intake of students enrolled in the country's first post-graduate diploma specialising in Early Childhood Education. New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) have also started delivering new qualifications with 20 week NZQA-accredited retail courses.
Students from Media Design School dominated the student awards at the Newspaper Ads Awards. There is a link to two winning entries in the article below. Finally for this month, a student from the Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design won the Eden Arts competition and picked up some more than handy prize money.
