ITI Newsletter - June 2011
Good morning and welcome to the June 2011 edition of the ITI Newsletter.
Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI) is a peak industry body providing a collective voice and support to a diverse range of large, high-quality Private Training Establishments (PTEs) around New Zealand. Every month, we use this short newsletter to share some success stories from our members which are indicative of the quality education they each provide to their equally diverse learners.
The New Zealand Career College is now collaborating with the Open Polytechnic to offer their students a clear pathway into the Polytech's Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) has completed two pathway agreements which will see their students able to staircase into business qualifications at AUT, and business or hospitality qualifications at the University of South Australia.
A Media Design School (MDS) student has scooped the prize for best animated film at an independent festival in America. The film is called Time For a Change and the link is included in the article below. We also have a case study of a Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design graduate who started an innovative business after completing a Fine Arts qualification in photography as a mature student.
Students from the Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) recently ran a Bigger and Better Challenge to raise money for disadvantaged children in Taranaki. Finally for this issue, learners at the International Travel College (ITC) celebrated their annual global day by showcasing costumes, food and entertainment from around the world.
