New Zealand Tertiary College

New Zealand Tertiary College (NZTC), established in 1982, is a private early childhood education provider based in Auckland, New Zealand. NZTC was the first private tertiary establishment in New Zealand to gain approval to offer an early childhood teaching qualification, and has been instrumental in gaining professional teaching status for early childhood teachers.

We specialise in educating people to become qualified early childhood teachers who care for and educate children aged 5 years old and under.

We also offer professional programs without the practical teaching requirements of qualifications leading to teacher registration. These programs are relevant for careers with a specialist early childhood focus, such as social work and health.

All NZTC qualifications are NZQA approved. We also work closely with the New Zealand Teachers Council and Ministry of Education to ensure our graduates are granted professional status in teaching. Graduates from our Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) and Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) are eligible to apply for teacher registration in New Zealand.

NZTC offers flexible learning modes of study including classroom-based lectures and an online distance learning option via custom-made online e-learning tools.
