ITI launched a campaign in March to invite like-minded private training establishments to join with us in a campaign to:
1. effectively represent the interests of quality PTEs in the implementation of the tertiary education reforms, enabling PTEs to continue to sustainably meet stakeholders’ needs; and
2. promote an enhanced role for quality PTEs in the tertiary education system by conducting quality research and communicating with a range of political, educational and community groups.
We have had a positive response to the Campaign and would like to share some feedback from a couple of our new subscribers.
The Institute of Applied Learning has joined the ITI campaign because PTEs need a voice that will address the issues that face the private educators moving into the 2008 world of education. To date, IAL has not found the right voice to talk to the decision makers. We have had “yes, yes we hear you” for the last 2 years but when the final materials came out, it was obvious those other voices had greater impact and that political memories are short. IAL believes that with Dave Guerin and the large ITI members that our voice will be heard
Roberta Budvietas, Institute of Applied Learning
We joined the campaign because we believe that quality private training providers play a valuable role in the NZ education system and we want that to continue. We like the level of detail and analysis provided by ITI, and believe that constructive engagement with the TEC and government is the way to go.

Thanks to all of the Campaign subscribers that have joined so far. If you would like to subscribe or find out more, please contact Dave Guerin.
