Media Design School Goes to Mars Monday April 28, 2008

Recent graduates from Media Design School’s Diploma in 3D Computer Animation have been working with Auckland companies Magimation, and Photon Animation, in the production of a 3D trailer for new television series, Maori on Mars.

Maori on Mars is a retro sci-fi show about the adventures of a long lost Maori tribe on the Red Planet. The show will be broadcast by TVNZ, and the trailer used for presentation purposes to international broadcasters at the Palias des Festivals.

Magimation’s producer Johannes Konigstorfer was more than confident that these new graduates would deliver, because he had just finished producing Voopa the Goulash, a multi million budget High Definition 3D production that employed two graduates from Media Design School. The MDS recruits both stepped up to the challenges of a real production and fitted in seamlessly with heavy-weight professionals from all over the world.
