On August 2, Bible College of New Zealand will unveil its new name at an event to be hosted at the Waitakere Trust Stadium in Henderson, Auckland. The celebration will commence at 7:00pm. The theme of the event is ‘Imagine’. The promotion leading up to the event has focused on {Something} College.
"We are keeping our new name under wraps. So we've been promoting {Something} College in advance of the relaunch," said Joel Supeck, Director of Communications. "Our new name and brand will celebrate our past and position us well for moving into the future. We're looking forward to sharing what we've come up with."
The August 2 event will identify a number of issues facing New Zealand society and unveil the College's plan for doing its part to address these challenges. “The theme is ‘Imagine’,” says Joel Supeck. "We are building an institution where we invite students and faculty to dare to imagine a world that is dynamically influenced by the gospel - and who also dare to take the steps necessary for that to happen. The August 2 event is a chance for us to share what we have been imagining with the public and our supporters."
John Hawkesby will be the MC for the event. The evening will begin with a moving welcome intended to signify the movement from the old to the new. Dr Mark Strom, CEO and Principal of the College, will address the audience prior to keynote speaker, Chief Youth Court Judge, Andrew Becroft.
There will be a number of presentations throughout the event, supplemented by an array of musical interludes, including a performance by the Mt Roskill Primary School Choir. At the conclusion of the event, Jazzlines will perform as guests are invited to catch up with friends and members of the College’s staff.
Founded in 1922, the College has trained men and women in the scriptures and prepared them for work and service in all areas of life. The College has been undergoing a series of changes since the beginning of 2005. These changes have included a restructuring of the organisation and its programmes. More recently, the College announced a merger with MASTERS Institute. The College intends on offering a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) from 2009.
