The new name for the Bible College of New Zealand (and MASTERS Institute) was revealed on August 2, at an event hosted at the Waitakere Trust Stadium in Henderson, Auckland.
The new college name is Laidlaw College. Laidlaw College is a university-level institution that will offer a suite of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the areas of theology, counselling, teaching and the arts. The college has taken its name from the late Robert A Laidlaw, one of the founders of the Bible College in 1922. Robert was a prominent New Zealand businessman, philanthropist and writer who founded and owned the Farmers department stores, as well as serving as president of the college.
Academic Director, Derek Marin, says, “Laidlaw College will train leaders (whether they be pastors, counsellors, teachers, lawyers, managers, community workers) who will have a significant positive influence on New Zealand society and church.”
Laidlaw College is in the process of updating its website; have a look at www.laidlaw.ac.nz to see its new logo and branding.
