Whitecliffe Student’s Design Featured With the Best Thursday August 28, 2008

Juliette Shannon, a third year fashion major at Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design, won the Masquerade MASK Competition with a fantastic entry that will be featured alongside masks created by top New Zealand fashion designers.

Sara Lee has produced a new range of Moccona coffee, and will be launching the brand to their trade partners and invited guests as well as the paying public at the Moccona Masquerade Charity Ball. The Burn Support Group Charitable Trust will be the charity supported by this event.

Whitecliffe created a competition among the fashion design students to design a unique masquerade mask. Juliette and her winning mask will have a full-page feature in the October ‘Fashion’ issue of MiNDFOOD magazine.

Juliette will feature alongside five top New Zealand fashion designers who are also designing masks: WORLD, Trelise Cooper, Sharon Finn – mosaic specialist, Sally Blyth – professional mask designer, and Kathryn Wilson – shoe designer.

Each of the 6 masks will be auctioned on the night of the ball to raise funds for the Burns Support Charity Group.
