2013 Marks 20 years for BTI

BTI began as Bethlehem Teachers College in 1993 with one full-time lecturer and 15 students. In 2013, BTI has 450 students throughout New Zealand, Australia, Tonga and Thailand, 40 permanent staff and more than a dozen programmes across counselling, social work and all spheres of teacher education.

Sylvia Park Home to New NZMA Campus

Auckland’s new industrial hub of Sylvia Park will soon have a specialist trades training campus on its doorstep providing work-ready graduates in areas of key skills shortages.

New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) is to open a new campus at Sylvia Park in Auckland to host its construction training, cookery and hospitality programmes. The new facility, in Carbine Road, will replace its city campus in Anzac Avenue in central Auckland.

The International Travel College of New Zealand (ITC) has been a premium supplier of full-time and part-time training programmes for the airline, travel and tourism industries since 1996, and has campuses in Botany and central Auckland.

Since 2006, ITC has offered several of its courses via and distance and online learning (DOL). ITC DOL graduate Anita van der Mespel recently achieved her goal of entering the travel and tourism industry with a position at American Express.

A new campus for Yoobee’s Auckland Students

MDS 'Expand and Magnify' and 'Create Me!'

Media Design School is launching a series of events this year to provide opportunities for teachers to engage with different aspects of the digital world, with an art and technology focus. The Expand and Magnify series will be a mix of insightful and constructive talks and tutorial content. Media Design School is also running a competition that gives junior school students the chance to design an individual character concept.

Celebrity chef Ross Burden officially opened New Zealand Management Academies’ new cookery school in Panmure last month. The opening drew a large crowd, with locals from the community keen to check out the new training facilities.  This is the first time NZMA has had a campus in East Auckland, and the provider is excited about offering qualifications and career opportunities to the area. read more...

Illustrators 2013: A TLC Exhibition

Illustrators from Wellington art school The Learning Connexion worked hard to perfect an exhibition of grand proportions in February this year. Illustrators 2013 was a celebration of artistic ability, with four graduates and five students showcasing their art to the public. The exhibition highlighted the many diverse facets of illustration, utilising text from literature and fantastic images brought forth from the depths of the artists’ imaginations.
