New General Manager for YOOBEE@Natcoll

Ruth Cooper has recently been appointed as General Manager - Education for YOOBEE@Natcoll Design School.

Born in Canterbury, New Zealand, Ruth spent her childhood living in Canada and Antigua in the West Indies. On her return home she entered the travel industry, but it was after teaching English in Taiwan and Brazil that her passion for teaching was ignited.

In 1993 her career in private tertiary colleges started at Sir George Seymour College in Christchurch, where she was appointed Campus Principal. Migrating to Sydney, Australia in 1999, Ruth took up senior positions at PTEs, the most recent as Operations Manager for the prestigious International College of Management in Manly.

Whilst raising her young family, Ruth completed her MBA at Macquarie University, Sydney. She returned to New Zealand in 2006, where she taught business and management at Massey University and continued to do contract work specialising in new business development, compliance and quality management for leading private training colleges across New Zealand.

Ruth says she's looking forward to the challenge of her new role, which will encompass overseeing campuses in New Zealand and Australia, plus managing short courses, online learning, publishing and new business development. As YOOBEE @Natcoll Design School already offers a high quality product, her vision is to maintain the quality and the school's excellent reputation, “to consolidate and nurture what we have and to grow new business”.
