Welcome to the May edition of the monthly newsletter from Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI).
This newsletter comes out just a week after Budget 2008, in the week submissions are due on the School Plus discussion document and the week before consultation closes on the new unified Skills Strategy. It is fair to say it is a busy time of year for ITI members.
There are four stories this month including the success of the New Zealand Management Academies' new employment service Red Fish at recent expos. The Pacific International Hotel Management School (PIHMS) is accepted into a leading world network of hotel schools and we congratulate Natcoll on securing TEC funding for a new project looking to improve the completion rates of Maori and Pacific Island students. ITI was also well represented at a recent workshop in Sydney which showcased New Zealand education to 227 agents from 57 countries.
