Welcome to the August 2008 edition of the Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI) Newsletter.
ITI will be launching its election manifesto on 9 September at a cocktail function for politicians, media and stakeholders. The manifesto sets out some simple policies which would make a real difference for the private tertiary education sector and the learners who choose to study in it.
In this month's newsletter, we cover the Frontline Kiwi seminar at the International Travel College. This event highlighted the fun and professional style of Frontline Kiwi training. The new name of the merged Bible College of New Zealand and MASTERS Institute has been revealed as Laidlaw College. This new identity refers to one of the founders of the Bible College and was unveiled at a huge launch in Auckland.
ITI congratulates Flora Gilkison on her selection as a Management Focus Regional Champion. The Economic Development Association of New Zealand (EDANZ) has selected outstanding regional managers as part of the Management Focus project and we are delighted that Flora at the Pacific International Hotel Management School has been featured.
Finally for this edition, a student from the Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design has won a prestigious mask making competition. Her winning mask is not only highly fashionable but will be auctioned for a very good cause.
