Welcome everyone to the December 2008 newsletter from Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI), our final newsletter of the year.
The last year has seen a number of changes for the private tertiary education sector. We have a new Government, two new Ministers, a new Quality Assurance system on the way and the continued roll out of the Investing in a Plan process. That said, a number of key issues - including over provision, a level policy playing field and access to equity funding - continue and ITI hopes to see progress on these in the new year.
In this issue, we cover the International Travel College winning the Leading Training Provider award from the Travel Digest. Staff and students at the New Zealand Management Academies literally help wishes come true. Laidlaw College is awarded another two Ako Aotearoa research projects and the Pacific International Hotel Management School retains its Investors in People Award which recognises their strong staff culture.
ITI members would like to wish all readers a merry festive season and all the very best for 2009.
Regards
Neil Miller
