ITI ITI Newsletter - May 2009

Welcome to the May 2009 edition of the Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI) newsletter.  ITI is a recognised peak body representing a diverse range of larger high-quality Private Training Establishments (PTEs).  A particularly warm welcome to all our new subscribers.  Around the country, all eyes are on Budget 2009 which will be delivered by Finance Minister Hon Bill English later today.  The next newsletter will have a look at the implications of the Budget for the sector.

In this issue however we continue to focus on the success of ITI members and their learners.  The International Travel College (ITC) has opened a new airport training centre at their Botany Campus.  Laidlaw College has helped intermediate children experience Outdoor Education Week.  The Pacific International Hotel Management School (usually known as PIHMS) became a first-time sponsor of the Hotel Industry Conference which was opened by Prime Minister John Key.  Inspiring young leader Hugh Evans was hosted at events around the country by Bethlehem Tertiary Institute (BTI).  Finally, students at the New Zealand Management Academies came up with a unique - and entertaining - way to raise money for the Child Cancer Foundation.

Regards
