Good afternoon and welcome to the August 2009 edition of the Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI) newsletter.  This monthly publication highlights excellence and achievements at our members.  ITI is a peak industry body representing a broad range of larger, high-quality private training establishments.

In this issue, Natcoll have introduced an innovative new internship programme to help provide their learner's with real-world experience.  Over in West Auckland, New Zealand Management Academies has been selected as a finalist in the local business awards based on their commitment to staff training.  The International Travel College is introducing scholarships to provide direct financial support to students with exceptional potential.  On a topical note, students from the Media Design School have won the topical advertisement contest.  Finally, there is a short list of upcoming events which are open to the public.
