Hello and welcome to the September 2009 Newsletter from Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI). ITI is a recognised peak body representing a diverse range of larger, high-quality, private tertiary education providers. Each month, we look to share some success stories from our members.
This month, contact centre students at the New Zealand Management Academies campus in Hamilton use their new skills to raise over $20,000 for charity. A Bethlehem Tertiary Institute graduate is inspired to work with untrained teachers in Ghana and in turn inspires them and their students. A young graduate from Whitecliffe is staying grounded despite being discussed as New Zealand fashion's next big thing. Finally, there is a list of public events and exhibitions being run by ITI members next month.
September has been a busy time with an ITI Board Meeting and our first Parliamentary function. ITI wishes to thank the Minister of Tertiary Education, Hon Anne Tolley, for hosting this well-attended event. It was great opportunity for members to mix with politicians, officials and other interested parties.
Regards
Neil Miller
