Welcome to the first ITI newsletter of 2010. Independent Tertiary Institutions (ITI) is a recognised industry peak body representing a range of larger, high-quality private training establishments. Published each month, this newsletter contains a range of stories from our members about the successes of their learners and teachers. From time to time, we will also provide some commentary on the big tertiary issues of the day. With the sad demise of the Education Review newspaper, industry newsletters such as the ITI Update will become increasingly important for disseminating information about the tertiary education sector.
In this issue, the International Travel College unveils its brand new Certificate in Aviation. Students at the Media Design School had just four weeks to create a live action movie. Click on the link in the article to enjoy it in all its fishy glory! Two students from the Pacific International Hotel Management School have finished their studies but have no intention of looking for jobs. That is because they are setting up their own destination management company.
The Natcoll Education Trust (NET) has been helping primary schools since 2001 with projects which involve and teach about digital technology. Finally, Laidlaw College's cutting edge Certificate in On-Line Tutoring is now being delivered to trainees off-shore. This is a course which really does practice what it preaches.
